What to do if you are being abused

  • If you are still being abused – please find a trusted friend to speak to and confide in.
  • You don’t have to be afraid, no matter what the perpetrator threatens you with – they have no power!! You may feel like they have the power, but there is always somebody that can help.
  • Know that perpetrators are liars and will say anything to get you to do what they want and to meet their own perverted and distorted desires.
  • Find ways to try and avoid the perpetrator, i.e. don’t answer their calls, let them into your room etc.
  • If you have somebody that is aware of what is happening, have a code word that you share, and use it whenever the perpetrator is trying to get you alone to abuse you.
  • YOU ARE NOT ALONE and IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.
  • There is HOPE
  • There are a number of organisations or agencies which you can contact anonymously.
